Central repository and automation of packaging management processes

Fine Foods & Pharmaceuticals N.T.M. is the largest Italian third party manufacturer of food supplements and an important player in the pharmaceutical market. It employs around 300 people and with 77 production lines it supplies over 150 customers, with 400 different products. For the vast amount of products and companies involved, it was necessary to adopt a system capable of managing a flow, with checks and validations before the final print of the packaging.

 CHALLENGE

The ever-increasing number of artwork to be processed and the stringent controls of the label have led the company to evaluate the automation of the packaging management processes to have a central repository of all product information.

SOLUTION

To meet this need, we have implemented 4PACK, the global packaging solution based on proprietary eTEAM software and operating in S.a.a.s. simply via browser. A choice that brought the following advantages:

• elimination of paper or private exchanges by e-mail: all notes, indications, corrections are entered in the system;
• more effective work management, saving time in sharing content and validations;
• drastically reduced margin of error with consequent savings in printing costs.

• The flow of creating new artworks has been speeded up.
